IMMUNIZATION OF PUPILS

All students must be completely immunized or exempted before admission to any public, parochial, private or charter school in Pennsylvania. This is required by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the Philadelphia County Board of Health and the School District of Philadelphia. Immunizations required for admission are as follows:

1. Diphtheria
2. Tetanus
3. Poliomyelitis

4. Measles (Rubella)
5. Mumps
6. German Measles
7. Hepatitis B

There are two exemptions:

1. Religious Exemptions - Pupils need not be immunized if the parent or guardian objects in writing to the immunization on religious/ethical grounds
2. Medical Exemptions  - Pupils need not be immunized if a physician or his designee provides a written statement that immunization may be detrimental to health of the child.
